We have all some experience of a feeling, that comes over us occasionally, of what we are saying and doing having been said and done before, in a remote time – of our having been surrounded, dim ages ago, by the same faces, objects, and circumstances –of our knowing perfectly what will be said next, as if we suddenly remember it!

I'm a big believer in all things paranormal, as readers must know by now. So, of course I believe in Deja Vu. It's happened to me a few times, and each time, it gives you a truly weird feeling. It's hard to describe. It's like, re-living a moment, but not being able to put your finger on exactly what the moment was, or where it came from. I finally checked out this movie over the weekend. I had heard mixed reviews, so I didn't rush to see it. I'm sorry I didn't!! This was my type of film: lots of action, sci-fi twists, a love story, and Denzel Washington. Oh, and plenty of intrigue. I loved both of Denzel's other sci-fi-themed films, Out of Time and Fallen. No disappointment here!
From the opening, we're drawn into a ferry explosion/terrorist act, which is tied to the murder of a young woman who lives nearby, but was not a part of the ferry accident. It's fun to watch Denzel's ATF agent figure this out, and supply the answers as we go along.
Thinking about Deja Vu got me to pondering about the idea of past lives. Hindus believe in past lives, and future lives. The idea is, the universe, and all in it, is "recycled." So each person goes through the cycle, and eventually makes it back around again. I always thought there's no point in many lives; the one here and the one in Paradise is enough, thanks. But what do I know? I only know what Christianity told me. It actually makes sense, and thinking about Deja Vu, which I've had several times, makes me wonder...maybe the reason I felt that I had had that conversation before, or had been in that place before...was because I had been there, in a past life.
I don't know. The X Files had an episode on this idea, and it was the WORST episode they ever had. haha Not due to the ideas though. It was just very badly acted; rare for that show. I'm trying to keep my mind open at this point. If I did have a past life, I wish I could remember it! Maybe I was actually married with kids in THAT life. haha
In other news, I had a nice lunch with Terre and Marilyn on Saturday. Never mind that me, with my brilliant directional sense, got lost and was 45 mins. late! Sheesh. These meet-ups seem doomed to bad directions and directionally-challenged people! Ah well. In the end, we all had good Italian and got a chance to catch up, so all was not lost.
Have a Happy Week!
And check out Deja Vu! Very good movie.

I hope you are having a great week so far, Marty! Hmmmm...we need to get you a GPS system! I use one for work or I would still be lost from traveling weeks ago. Trust me! :)
