I may have reviewed this movie before, at some point, but not on this blog, I don't think. I picked this up a while back (Thank God for the $5.00 bin at Wal Mart!), and finally got around to watching it. I love this movie!
Aside from one truly disgusting scene (why boys think poo is so funny, is beyond me....), this film really does have a lot to offer, and is Kevin Smith's smartest and most literate offering. The plot involves fallen angels trying to get back into Heaven, a scion, a guardian, muses, devils' agents, and Alanis Morrisette as God.
The dialogue was what interested me most; lots of discussion (which I agreed with) about religion, and how organized religion gets it wrong, and God's plan, and how it all can be misinterpreted.
Plus, Chris Rock, Ben Affleck, and Matt Damon, not to mention Jay and Silent Bob. I can't really ask for more in a film!!
Kevin Smith fans, or just fans of fun yet smart movies in general, check it out!
