The Hall of Fame

"Be not afraid of greatness: some are born great, some achieve greatness, and
some have greatness thrust upon 'em."

Twelfth Night (II, v, 156-159)

Last night, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted new members. Inductees must have a career spanning at least 25 years, to be eligible. Among the inductees was one of my personal heroes in life, Madonna. I’ve written and spoken to this topic before; how, as an 11 year old, I wanted to BE Madonna. How, as a 12 year old, I rocked it out to “Into the Groove” at the school dance. How, as a 13 year old, I listened to True Blue nonstop as a means of relaxation and comfort while recovering from a major surgery. How, at 15, I listened to Like a Prayer and decided it was the greatest album of all time. How, at 34, I still listen to all of Madonna’s albums and feel comforted.

Granted, I’ve moved on to more sophisticated taste, in lyrics and overall tone. But when I want pure escapist music, there is no better than Madonna. I’m most thankful for who Madonna is as a woman: strong, smart, a brilliant businesswoman, gutsy, driven, beautiful, and fearless.

Hell, I vote MADONNA FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!

She’s about the only woman who could go one on one with Hillary. Haha

She said in her acceptance speech, “I’m just getting started.”

Here’s to another 25 years, M!!!

Your ever-devoted kids,

Marty and Bean

Hiya, Thursday!

An entity...I like that. :)

"Like A Prayer" is my fave. I'm sure I've mentioned that before. ;)
