But Really, Do We Want To Buy This Stuff?

Hi All,
I just got back from a day of training. If I had a nickel for every new 'system' we had to learn here...well, I'd have a pocketfull of change. Good news is, the new one seems very easy and user-friendly. And the trainer was top-notch. So it was a nice day. Speaking of having a nice day...I think Mr. Hicks will take the 'American Idol' crown. I just don't hear a great voice from him, but he sure does have personality. Personality counts for a lot. Look at Madonna! My favorite example. The woman had pretty much zero talent in the very beginning, but Good Lord, did she learn what she needed to know! I have to love her for that. I love people who go after what they want and who are bold. I don't always take that approach myself, I admit. But people who really know me always call me a 'go-getter.' I guess I'm just more reserved and quiet about it. But going after what you want is definitely recommended.
Like, I was tired of the impossible odds of getting my book published by a major publisher, so I self-published. Like, if I want the yard work done, or the car fluids checked, I do these things myself even though I'd much rather have a man do them for me. I'm old-fashioned in some things; I think mowing and car maintenance should be left to men exclusively. I also think carpentry type projects should be left to men. I have these opinions mainly because I'm not very good at doing these things myself. (Smiles) Also, the thought of a well-built, muscular man doing these things in jeans and a t-shirt drives me nuts with desire. haha But a nerdy guy with glasses who reads a lot also drives me mad with desire. Will I decide which I want? Rugged Guy or Nerdy Guy? Why am I rambling about my fantasies? haha But if you need your home theater installed, or your computer installed, or any kind of electronics-related thing, I can do that. And for those readers who are women who do the things I listed above, please do not yell at me for my comments! (That means YOU, Jasmine.) I'm just saying, I'd rather watch a burly man mow the yard than sneeze myself to death doing it. I like the exercise, though.
But ANYWAY, I think Taylor has it in the bag. I liked McPhee's voice but otherwise was not overwhelmed. I LOVED Chris, but did not vote enough for him apparently. He'll be fine. He should still have a career. As for the others, I don't know. Look at past American Idols: most fade away into oblivion (Justin Guarini, anyone?), even the winners (Fantasia? Ruben? Where art thou?). We were glad to see Carrie Underwood win some CMAs last night. And I suppose Kelly Clarkson is doing well (has a Grammy!). My subject, though, speaks to my opinions on American Idols in general. Would I really buy any of it? So far, I haven't. I'd have to hear something great out of Chris before I'd even buy his. But then, I'm choosy in what CDs I will buy nowadays, since I have so many already. Best to whoever wins.

Tonight's a big night for me: another finale! I swear to God, if someone else I care about dies....haha. On 'Lost,' dying is almost assured. I think most of them are going to die eventually. I think they'll leave maybe ten major characters around until the end. But then, I thought it might all be in someone's head, and the producers nixed that idea. A friend of mine thinks the whole thing has to do with the asylum where Hurley resided. The asylum is somehow planting people together on this island as a psychological test. Interesting theory. We shall see...

More Things I Wish Men Would Do For Me
1) This is a PG rated site, dang it!
2) Carry heavy things. My weakling arms have a hard time with bags over 30 lbs.
3) Walk me to the car on those dark nights. I have a long way to walk as I leave work. Sometimes I make it there in record time.
4) Watch cartoons with me. Bean refuses to watch cartoons as they are 'childish.' She laughs when she sees me in there watching 'Family Guy' and 'Simpsons' all the time.
5) Give me bear hugs. Crap. Am I talking about my fantasies again?

haha

Have a great evening, and think about me at 11:00. If something drastic happens on 'Lost,' you may never hear the end of it.

Oh so much to say here. *snicker*

*spoiler warning* First, Lost rocked last night and didn't suck so bad at the same time. I liked how the vine of reason continued to weave the stories together. The boat-giving woman who wasn't named 'Libby' was Libby? The Scottsman's girlfriend is connected to the research on the island? The whole she finds him in the process of him finding himself so that he can lose himself permanently? Oooo. yeah, liked it. Still have major problem with the total lack of mention of the island monsters. Grrr. I have my therory on that. ;)

Secondly, What about a nerdy guy who mows his lawn or a muscular guy who reads too much? Hmm. It's a nice idea, knowing a women who can actually have several inputs functionally enter the home theatre with several output options while maintaining quality to all speakers. Arr arr arr. But the country boy in me likes the idea of a woman who likes to get dirty and sweaty outside with me before spending the evening being pampered like the queen she should be. Oh the fantasies I could get into. LOL!

Lastly, *spoiler* Actually had to sit through Idol live and not DVR'ed. Painful. Digged Warwick and Burt Bach and was glad Taylor got it. He'll do it justice. :)

Late for work. Peace!

I was partly kidding with my 'fantasy' comments. I don't mind doing the outdoor stuff, or getting sweaty, but I'm just saying, it's nice when guys do stuff like that. But what I really want, is a muscular, nerdy guy who can do yardwork and household repair while fixing the car and allowing me to handle the remote, and can discuss everything from Calvin and Hobbes to Shakespeare. haha I ask for too much, yes? I am kidding a lot of the time, you must realize.
And Lost....well, see the latest post.
