Heroes Come In All Colors

Hi All,
We watched 'Walk the Line' last night on DVD. What a wonderful movie this is!! Joaquin and Reese were excellent as John and June Carter Cash. Plus, the music was fun. It's nice to see a really good film for a change. So much of what we rent is a waste of time. For example, we rented 'Elizabethtown' but couldn't hardly make it through it because it was so....boring and silly. It had a serious subject, too! But it just didn't entertain. But The Man in Black...well, there's a man that knew how to entertain!
And speaking of films that entertained! I watched the Director's Cut of 'Elektra' over the weekend. I LOVE that movie! It got bashed by the fanboys and critics, but what do they know? I'm a huge Jennifer Garner fan, mainly because she's just an extraordinary actress. The girl has range! And the movie had this wonderful cinematography that made you feel like you were in a very colorful dream. We know how I feel about dreams. Plus, it had action. Plus, well, I love the superhero movies. Even 'Catwoman,' which was also considered a bomb, I loved! I tend to like these types of movies because they create these myths around the characters. They didn't all hit the mark, though. 'Fantastic Four' just didn't have it. You win some, you lose some, I guess. I'd say Garner and company won with 'Elektra.'

Just as a prelude, Elektra became a superhero when she decided to avenge her father's death. She was killed by Bullseye, the same villain who took her father's life. A mystic karate instructor brought her back to life....and she became an assassin for hire. And she wears a really hot crimson red outfit. And carries my favorite weapon, the scythe.

Things I'd Do if I Were Elektra
1) Glare at people who thought I had a complex
2) Make the most of it on Halloween by showing up at people's doors and telling them I need candy, or I'll do some damage
3) Get a job cutting wheat
4) Have lunch with La Femme Nikita (also an assassin)
5) Train with Wonder Woman on rope lassoing skills

:)

Have a good day!
