Mary Washington College

Hi All,

Thanks, Thursday, for making me think about my favorite places. MWC is my #1 favorite place, anywhere. You know the story; it was the best four years of my life, I learned so much about myself and formed so much as a person, etc. etc. It's true, though. They changed the name a few years back to The University of Mary Washington, which alumni like myself fight to this day. It'll always be MWC to us.

Aside from being a cultural and intellectual haven, it's the most beautiful campus on Earth.

That's Virginia Hall in the background; my dorm freshman year. And that's Ball Circle in the foreground; where I graduated.

Chandler Hall: The English Building. It's now administrative offices. I spent an uncommon amount of time here. And loved every second.

Monroe Hall: The History Building. My roommates spent their lives here, most of them being History majors. And I spent many a day by the fountain, in a trance.

Dodd Auditorium: Where I saw Tori live for the first time. I met her right outside the back doors of this building.

Simpson Library: While this was a 'modern' building and was not as visually stunning as the others, we all loved the library! To think, I first used the internet here, first sat in study corrals here, and the first creative writing I did was done here. I wrote poems. Did I say The English Building was my favorite? I take it back. THIS was my favorite. I am a nerd. ;)

Ah, that was fun!

Things I wish I'd done in college
1) 'Experimented.' haha JK
2) Said hello to Sandra Bullock's mother, who was a staff member.
3) Gotten a picture of me and Tori together. I left my camera in my room. Damn! That would have been the one to frame.
4) Stayed my college weight forever. I was thin as a rail. Times, they change.
5) Gone to more parties. I was the studious, nerdy type. I don't really 'party.' But I did learn to love wine. :)

Have a great day!

ps I upgraded this to 'Blogger Beta' and it sends errors in posting, so I'm not sure anyone can post comments. Yet. You can try, though. Dang technology!

I love my campus (Boise State University), but it does not compare to yours. Beautiful pics, Marty!
