Somewhere, Leann Is Smiling

Hi All,
I had to laugh a little when Paris sang 'How Do I Live,' after I begged them all not to. We wanted to hear a Trisha Yearwood song, for sure, but not that one (popularized by Leann Rimes, but the original by Yearwood is much better). Bean and I both laughed when Kellie sang 'Fancy' by Reba McEntire. Why did we laugh? Because Bean and I have On Demand Karaoke, and 'Fancy' is one of the songs we sing from there. That song has like, a million lyrics, and it's very hard to sing! It got us out of breath. It has funny lyrics like "And I shivered as I watched a roach crawl across the toe of my high heeled shoe." Thanks, Reba! I'm not sure who will be voted off, but I thought Chris, Bucky, and Kellie did the best. We're just waiting for that 'Prince' night....

There was some conversation on Lifetime yesterday about Ipods. I don't really listen to music via headphones much anymore, due to concerns about hearing loss and ringing in the ears, but when I do, I go Old School and play CDs on the discman. I remember when owning a discman was rare, as they were so expensive (like $200 at the time). I guess the Ipod is the new 'thing' these days. I don't think I need 1,000 songs on this little device. I already have hundreds of CDs! They sure do come up with lots of 'stuff' out there for people to buy. Technically I 'should' promote such a thing, considering I work for a large electronics retailer. But I see it as another toy for people to play with. Not that there's anything wrong with toys! I love toys! (Again, Old School style...things you actually have to use your imagination with.) We had so much fun a while back when we played Play Doh with my neice. Ah, the Play Doh smell! I always loved that. And it was fun to try to make things out of it. She had some cookie-cutter type molds that cut out cute little shapes-stars and hearts and such. At least THOSE came out good for me! I tried to make a dinosaur but it came out rather pitiful. Neice, she rolled the balls flat and stacked them like pancakes. When Dad tried to move one, she said, "Don't mess with my pancakes!"
Indeed! I think that's a life lesson for us all, yes? Never mess with someone's pancakes. haha

Adventures in Play Doh
1) My army man went down pretty easy when he was shot. I guess you could say he had feet of clay.
2) I liked to make little miniature snowmen type figures, then pretend I was Godzilla and stomp them all, Calvin and Hobbes-style.
3) Making snakes was fun. Making Koala Bears was a little bit harder.
4) Just don't put the dough in the Easy Bake Oven! Bad idea. Very bad idea.
5) I'm sure many a kid has tasted Play Doh, out of curiosity. THERE's a good lunch! (Not)

haha

Have a great day!
