Grey's Anatomy Spin-Off?

I wonder if the rumors are true regarding the "possible" Grey's Anatomy spin-off? From the moment I heard it was in the works, I begged the Grey's writers not to do it (They have a blog you can comment on. They are brave.). But as news of a spin-off for Addison Montgomery (Formerly Shepherd) continued, it seemed this was a done deal. Sad for me, 'cause Addison is one of my favorite characters, and I did not want to see her with some other group of people-I wanted to see her with the Grey's cast, where she was a great addition (and the best actor!).

BUT, since ABC aired the pilot last night, in the ruse of it being a "special" Grey's Anatomy (good plan, ABC...smart marketing!), we all got a glimpse of what might be. I say "might be" because I read that ABC wants to see how the pilot fared last night, before giving it the go-ahead. This could be Message Board rumor. I can't imagine ABC actually listening to the FANS. Fans, after all, tend to be overly attached at times. And not always rational or objective. But, we pay the bills!

If ABC DOES listen to the fans, WOW, will they get an earful. I got many good laughs perusing the Message Board. Here's what I saw:

1) People in general hated the pilot, and the idea of a spin-off.
2) People love Kate Walsh, but agree with me in that she belongs on Grey's.
3) People hate new posters and trolls. Well, we all hate trolls on Message Boards.
4) People are hilarious.

"I'm going to go drown MYSELF in the tub; this is so horrid!"
"THIS SUCKS."
"WHY are we being forced to watch this crap??"
"Where is MY GREY'S ANATOMY????"

haha Good laughs, people.

Personally, I thought the pilot wasn't bad. It wasn't great, either, but I did like the cast. And I love Kate Walsh so if it flies, I'll tune in.

'Alias' fans! Francie and Sark were on there! I miss that show so much.

Anyhow, on the actual Grey's plot, what little of it there was:

Poor Meredith! I know we spent 2 hours just about with Addison and the new clan, but my initial reaction at the end was, "Poor Meredith!" I'm not sure why her newfound "fake mommy" had to DIE...or her estranged father had to hit her, but, the girl cannot catch a break.

And at this point I am so outdone with Derek, I hope she does move on. So there!
And George/Izzie/Callie...good stuff, writers! GOOD STUFF!

In other news, I've been listening to Tori's new CD, and let me say this:

1) It rocks! I mean literally. Very 'rock' for Tori. If you know her you know she has been very...'adult contemporary' as of late. No more!
2) I haven't gotten into the lyrics yet, and I am ignoring the entire concept of her being different characters. Indeed, I get the point, and she is correct in that we all are made up of different characters, but I saw that in her songs before. I didn't need her to don wigs and spell it out to me. I like her as Just Tori, who's awesome.
3) Some true classics on this CD: "Bouncing Off Clouds," "Digital Ghost," Secret Spell," "Code Red" emerge as favorites so far.
