I just came up with a quote that I thought was rather good:
"Management sometimes forgets to have a soul."
This is why I'll never be a manager, not even for that huge salary. As long as I can afford SW toys, I'm good. ha ;)
The Soul is an interesting thing to think about. Over the past weekend, my parents and I got into some deep discussions about The Afterlife and the book of Revelation. They're studying Revelation in Sunday School, so the topic came up. Revelation: The most baffling book ever! Actually, if you like metaphor as I do, it's also the coolest book ever. Do I get it? Hardly. I get enough, though, to know that the End of Days ain't gonna be a bed of roses. For anybody.
But anyway, someplace in the discussion, we got onto my question of:
Do we go straight to Heaven, since Jesus told the thief on the cross, "Today you shall be with me in Paradise?" Or do we lay in some sort of "sleeping" state until the End of Days, when "The dead will rise?" We seemed to agree, since it's always been our belief, that we go straight up. What Jesus says trumps all else. BUT...isn't Revelation written by the inspiration of Jesus? Doesn't John write exactly what Jesus tells him in the dream? So who are these "dead" that will rise then? I think they're people who lived before Christ, who never had the chance to know Him, since He had not come yet. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.
We also got onto what The Soul will be like. This, we're much more fuzzy on. Bean kills me sometimes; she says she thought The Soul would be a little white light, and she wondered how she'd know which light I was. haha! I told her, We'll be recognizable as in human form, except, no physical bodies (Hooray!). But this past weekend I wondered: JESUS rose from the dead and was alive again in his physical body; so what of us? Obviously, when we exhume bodies, we know they decomposed and are gone. But in the next world, are they alive again? I sure hope not. Well, I guess if it were perfect for all of us, it might be ok. But then that poses my other question of brain chemicals and such. Since my whole life here is ruled by malfunctioning brain chemicals, I sure don't want them in Paradise.
Lordy! No pun intended. haha I guess I still have a lot of questions, which will all be answered someday. In the meantime, it's good just to have faith.
Have a great day, All.
:)
