Cruel Summer

Hi All,
Bananarama were great! All who agree, you rock. All who don't, I can't help you. haha JK It occurred to us last night that the summer is basically over, and we didn't attend one concert (Thanks, Tori, for not touring! Damn! And Thanks, Madonna, for avoiding us altogether. After all the money we've given you! Eh, we still love you. You whore. haha). We also never stepped a toe in a pool or ocean. Heck, a sprinkler would have been an improvement. We also didn't get a single day off, except for the standard weekends. No wonder I felt tired, run-down, and wanted to sleep all the time.

The report came back A OK, BTW, just as an update. I seem to be this way my whole life. Something will be wrong, and I know there's something wrong, but no doctor can find it! It took 12 years to find some of the stomach issues. And they're still not fixed. Dang. Well, I feel better, lately. More awake, anyway. And I have some health tips for the masses.

1) About those hormones, ladies: The secret to life is....our bodies are trying to kill us, so deal with it! haha JK Men need to Thank God daily for the blessings they have, seriously. Bleeding half to death is No Fair, God. But we deal, cause we Rule! But really, we ALL (men included) have certain hormones that basically run our digestive systems and our metabolism. They key is to maintain these hormone levels. But HOW?

Sorry to do a list within a list. ;)

a) Start the day with exposure to sunlight.
b) Start the day with exercise, even moderate.
c) Start the day with a breakfast that includes protein.
d) Eat about every 2-3 hours, in small, healthy doses.
e) Stay as active (moving) as much as you can throughout the day.
f) Avoid stress as much as you can. It really can kill you, literally.
g) Drink ice water as much as you can.
h) Get 'deep sleep' from the hours of 12-3 (am).
i) Eat starches and carbs (yes, you need them!) early in the day, going lighter at dinner.

2) In other words, we're all backwards on how we eat. Breakfast should be the biggest meal of the day, getting smaller as we go along. But really, small mini-meals all day are best. And the only foods we really 'need' are fruits and vegetables. So the vegans have it right, really. But meats have some good things in them too, like that protein I mentioned. Lighter is better. But burgers sure do rock right off the grill! ;)

That's more info from that health book I've been reading. Hope it helps.

But anyway, about Summer? I decided it's not my favorite season anymore. Too hot and stifling. I think Fall and Winter are better! Not that I like to be cold. But the clothes are better, and you can snuggle with the cat, and you can see snow. Snow is the best! I always want to take my AT-AT outside in the snow and take a picture. With Snowtroopers commencing the ground assault. Heck, I could set up the whole scene, since I have it all in action figure and toy form. :) I am a Hoth nerd. It's my favorite.

And speaking of Star Wars! It's a Summer tradition to watch The Trilogy. I didn't even do THAT. What the heck did I do this Summer? Not much, apparently! And now the teachers have to go back to school. Knowing how the stress of the First Days of School are, I empathize with them. But not toooo much...cause they just had several months off, and I haven't had a day in Forever. I'm trying to take some time in September, so I can walk by the classrooms and mock them. haha JK.

So was it a Cruel Summer? Well, we DID have that awesome family reunion. And we've had some family birthdays and July 4th and stuff. And I mowed. And we got the new kitten. And I found my new favorite drink: Mango Mai Tai! 'Mango Madness' was always my favorite Snapple flavor. And it could be a whole lot worse; we're all really blessed. So, no, it wasn't a Cruel Summer, just one filled with work and not much else.

But Please God, bring back the Fall TV shows! I'm a bit...Lost without them.

Have a great day.

Bananarama's "Cruel Summer" is my favorite even above "Venus." I certainly empathize with that song this summer! Anyway, I missed you Martypants and its good to be back in the blogging bog. :) I think I certainly need to follow the health list you just did; we owe it to ourselves to be good to our bodies. xoxoxoxo

Thursday!!
It's great to see you back. Yeah, the first thing any of us should ever do is be good to our bodies, cause that affects everything else!

Welcome Back, Dearest.
