Hi All,
I loved these books as a teenager/young child. They are awesome! If you aren't aware of these, you need to be! Basically they start off on a plot, and as they come to a point in the story, you, the reader, get an option to pick where the story goes next. My trainee and I decided we have to get some of these, and read them again, now.
"I'm reading Shakespeare. What are you reading?"
"Choose Your Own Adventure Stories."
Hey, I'll do anything that prevents me from being too much of an adult. ;)
So we also decided it would be great if they wrote them with sarcastic options.
Like this:
"To continue into to the dark tunnel, go to page 85.
To stay here and be a ninny, turn to page 75."
"To open the chest, turn to page 65.
For a look at some whore's chest, turn to page 45, you perv!"
"If you think you should just quit now because you are a nincompoop, turn to page 109.
If you think you have this figured, turn to page 34. Sucker!"
"If you want the Yeti to attack you, turn to page 34 and stop whimpering.
If you want to beat Yeti with a shovel, you should be ashamed of yourself! Yetis need love, too."
"If you just wanted to look at pictures, turn to page 76 for a shaming from your parents.
If you actually loved reading this, you 'may' be a Nerd."
"If you are tired of options, turn to page 100.
If you want to speak to car stereos, press 1.
Oh wait. Wrong thing. Damn."
haha
We had a team meeting just now and my team won The Family Feud! Hooray us!
As usual I was harrassed for various things I said and did. Why must people tease me? Why? haha I welcome it. And I guess people know that I cannot be offended. Well, not hardly. But if anybody starts slamming Star Wars, Madonna, or Tori Amos..look out. haha
Have a great day, All.

Those are ho-larious, Marty! I remember reading those books as a kid. Unfortunately, I would almost always choose wrong and have my adventure end rather quickly, trapped at the bottom of a well or some such ill fate.
How about this one:
Turn to page 95 for a scrumptuous description of coffee that is so convincing you'll feel you've had a cup. Sure to give you a caffeine free jolt of energy!
Would you turn to page 95?
David: Poor fellow! Always trapped in a well, huh? I think you just needed more options. ;)
WIP: You're trying very hard to get me to think about coffee! Did Thursday put you up to this? haha
I am with David. I always, always chose the adventure that landed me back at page one within two minutes! I have to go back to them as an adult and see if my judgement has gotten any better...or worse!
Poor things! Ended up back at the beginning. I was such a reader, I read all possible endings. ;)
