Things I Learned This Year (2006)

I’ll never read the Jasper Fforde novel Eyre Affairs the same again. Don’t even get me started on his primary character, Thursday Next.

Manatees are fascinating creatures.

New York Rules. Okay, I already knew that.

Babies need to be hugged and kissed endlessly. Especially baby boys named Calvin and Jack.

Some kids were born to light up a room. Case in point: Bree.

There is truly very little reason to ever go to a movie theater. Unless The Man of Steel is involved.

Madonna and Tori Amos still Rule (somehow, I think they always will).

Google is now a verb.

Brad Pitt will have beautiful children. I just wish he’d have MINE.

Blogs are fun.

You can never have too much Halloween stuff.

I can write two novels at the same time. Thanks, Muse.

I can finally Thank The Maker: The Original Star Wars Trilogy came out on DVD.

Snow Patrol put out the best album of the year.

I am still Lost.

Meredith Grey is the coolest ‘dark and twisty’ character around. McDreamy ain’t bad to look at, either.

Gnarls Barkley are one mega-cool band. And Crazy has the best hook I’ve heard in a decade.

Sooner or later, the people at work will learn to just let me do what I do best: write.

I can cry at a movie about animated cars. Sheeesh.

Editing a newsletter is fun, but it’s appalling how few people can write, or spell.

Green Tea is the best energy-booster I have ever seen.

Blue is better than Red. (your loyal Democrat)

Things I wish for us all in 2007:

Peace
Health
Love

Happy New Year, All!
