8 Things I Loved About The Weekend
1) Congrats to the New York Giants, whose defense is incredible, and who gave us all a reason to cheer as the Super Bowl ended. I actually left my seat in excitement when he caught the game-winning pass for a TD. I think I may have yelled out, too. I also cheered every time Brady got sacked. You have to love the underdogs!!!
2) We had a wonderful visit with Bean's mom on Saturday. We went to Williamsburg and ate at Captain George's for her birthday. It's a seafood place, and the food, as well as the atmosphere, was fabulous. I ate too fast, and had some misery related to my hernia, but the others got a good laugh at me as I said things like, "I can't breathe!" and "I need to run laps around the building." Hey, if it makes people laugh, I can overlook a little pain!
3) I loaned 'The Piano' and a few other movies to my dear friend Rain. She called to tell me that 'The Piano' was "soft porn." What??? It was??? I'm pretty well de-sensitized to violence, language, and, apparently, sex, in movies. I mean, my PARENTS saw 'The Piano' and liked it. Rain says it's the "worst movie I have ever seen." It's one of MY all-time faves. I like the cinematography and the story, not to mention the Oscar-winning performances. But, dang, I missed the "porn." haha
4) After dinner Saturday, we had cake from Ukrop's. "Krops" (as we call it) is a high-end grocery store, and they make THE BEST cakes, ever. I could live off the icing. But then, I love icing. Bean had gotten a childhood pic of her mom put on the cake, and her mom really was touched. It was sweet. Literally!
5) Bean and I got a good laugh at a truly horrible movie called 'Joshua.' Avoid it! Sam Rockwell (the bad guy in the first 'Charlie's Angels' movie) was very nice to look at, but otherwise, it was a 'Omen' rip-off with a boy who was quite possibly the worst actor ever.
6) It was 60-something degrees here. Yeah. We're ready for Spring. Bring it on!
7) I watched 'Legends of the Fall' on Friday, which Bean had given me for Christmas. For some reason, I couldn't stop smiling. :) (Brad....Brad!!)
8) For Christmas, I had also gotten a gift card from JC Penney from my parents. I gave it to Bean's mom so she could pick me out some new duds. My fashion sense is just about non-existent, but that woman can shop, and has excellent taste! Seriously! My own personal shopper. Imagine that. Well, at least I'll look fly for a week. ha
Have a great night, All. :)

OOOSH! How dare someone have a pop at the Piano.
I've actually been to Kare Kare Beach - alas on the day I went it was really overcast and foggy but it still looked absolutely incredible. NZ is a beautiful place.
She's right about the softcore though. And Harvey Keitel really does have a tiny....
