Making Letterman Proud

Blatantly stealing from other blogs:
I don't think I did one of these here. If I did, here's a stab at a new one.

100 Things of Note

1) When I met Tori Amos, I yammered on like a dweeb about how great her voice was. She hugged me anyway.
2) I call my best friend 'Bean' as a tribute to Frances Bean Cobain, Tori's best friend Beene, and because someone called her 'Kelly Bean' once and I liked it.
3) If God asked me to help Him create the perfect man, physically, I'd say, "You already did. His name is Brad Pitt."
4) If God asked me to help Him create the perfect man, personality-wise, I'd say, "You already did. He's smart, and funny, and he's a huge nerd. Introduce us, and we'll be on our way."
5) I dressed up like Peter Criss of Kiss once and we put on a 'concert' for my parents.
6) I waited on Skeet Ulrich ('Scream') at Wal Mart.
7) I think a smooth chest and a goatee are the sexiest things in the world.
8) I think dark-haired, dark-eyed women make the most interesting characters.
9) The coldest I've ever been was at Mount Rushmore in March.
10) The best pecan pie I ever had was in Albany, Georgia.
11) I almost had a panic attack at The Tibetan Freedom Concert due to a surging crowd for Dave Matthews.
12) I felt incredibly dirty at Lollapalooza, but the bands were incredibly good.
13) I thought there were entirely too many people in New York City.
14) The Blue Ridge Mountains are more beautiful than The Rockies.
15) The most distrubing movie I've ever seen is 'The Accused.'
16) The funniest movie I've ever seen is 'Raising Arizona.'
17) The Imperial AT-AT is the coolest toy EVER.
18) I was very upset when my Stretch Armstrong doll broke.
19) For health reasons, I'm not supposed to have caffeine.
20) I once slept for 15 hours straight, not counting illnesses.
21) I slept with a stuffed animal until I was in the 8th grade.
22) My mother regularly comforted me after nightmares as a kid, but I haven't had one now in 20+ years.
23) I collect shotglasses, but don't do shots.
24) When I smell rubbing alcohol, I have hospital flashbacks.
25) I hate air conditioning in cars because the cool air reminds me of being in the operating room; same type of cool.
26) I have never been truly drunk in my life, and I don't want to be.
27) I believe in soulmates.
28) My favorite song of all time is a tie between 'Crucify,' 'Like A Prayer,' and 'Karma Chameleon.'
29) The only person I have ever wanted to be is Madonna.
30) I love stories about people being insane, or going insane, or being depressed.
31) I think a man in uniform is to die for.
32) I'd like to live in a lighthouse for awhile.
33) I'd like to live in a loft overlooking Central Park for awhile.
34) I think the hypodermic to the heart scene in 'Pulp Fiction' is the most intense one ever filmed, possibly.
35) I read Poe when I was in the 6th grade, and have loved him ever since.
36) I'd love to visit Shakespeare's grave, to show my respects.
37) The only time in my entire life that I have truly let down my reserve was at Madonna's Blonde Ambition show in 1990, where I screamed like a Beatles fan (think Ed Sullivan clips) the whole time.
38) I cried myself to sleep when I heard that Kurt Cobain had killed himself.
39) My favorite sound in the world is a cat's purr.
40) I have never had an argument with my mother in my life, and I never will.
41) I think 8 is the coolest number.
42) I don't believe in animosity, but I do not tolerate fake people.
43) If you compliment me even once, I will remember it always, and will love you for it always.
44) I love zebras because of Tori Amos' song 'Mr. Zebra.'
45) When I moved into my very first apartment, I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich like Mare Winningham did in her first apartment in 'St. Elmo's Fire.'
46) I really do love electronics; it's not just a job.
47) My favorite thing that I've ever bought is my 65 inch projection TV.
48) I went white water rafting in West Virginia, even though I can't swim.
49) My favorite vacation included a trip to Walden Pond.
50) My favorite roller coaster is The Big Bad Wolf at Busch Gardens.
51) I am only afraid of heights if I do not feel secure.
52) My 'Hulk' spent all of his time beating the crap out of Tonto.
53) I really did believe I could fly like Superman.
54) My favorite game is Taboo.
55) I didn't know what lesbians did together until I read the 'Sex' book at 18.
56) I'm obsessed with Egypt.
57) Star Trek: TNG's finale, 'All Good Things,' is the best series finale ever.
58) The Olive Garden is the best restaurant ever.
59) Red wine makes me spill my secrets, if I had any.
60) I'm a die-hard UVA Cavaliers fan, and support their football team.
61) The best class I ever took was Intro to Literary Theory.
62) I got a black cat just because they freak superstitious people out.
63) The same doctor that worked on Christopher Reeve after his accident worked on me when I was a baby.
64) My father played for the Detroit Tigers baseball team briefly.
65) When I attended a film festival, Sigourney Weaver was there, and she watched 'Aliens' with us in the auditorium.
66) My mother had a day named in her honor when she retired.
67) My brothers and I created our own band called The Power Company as kids.
68) I believe that all prayers are heard and answered.
69) When I was baptized, I really felt a spirit within me.
70) I'd love to meet a ghost.
71) I am terrified of June Bugs (Beetles).
72) The only soda I will drink is Cherry Coke.
73) I have an irrational fear that I will get stomach cancer.
74) I felt bad for Darth Vader when Obi Wan left him to die at the lava pit in 'Revenge of the Sith.'
75) The underwater scene in 'The Piano' is real art, in my eyes.
76) I'm not sure the literary canon is accurate, or includes the best books.
77) I think nature poetry is mostly crap.
78) I used to be a huge Metallica fan.
79) I believe that everything on The X Files 'could' actually happen.
80) At my graduation rehearsal in college, they played the Star Wars Theme instead of The Graduation Theme.
81) The place I feel most at peace is on that college campus.
82) I'd love to time-travel back to Ancient Egypt, and be Neffertiti's aide.
83) I think Moby Dick is the most overrated book of all.
84) I know 95% of the names of all of the background characters in The Mos Eisley Cantina and at Jabba's Palace, from The Star Wars films.
85) They invented the shunt the same year I needed one: 1973.
86) Halloween is my favorite holiday.
87) I don't think I'd like a 'fantasy dinner,' mainly because I don't like dinners where people sit around chatting.
88) Chicago really WAS The Windy City; I got blown to smithereens.
89) I try to have faith that a Romantic is out there for me.
90) I saw how cheese is made in Wisconsin.
91) I've never had a geography class in my life.
92) I'm actually pretty decent at math but mentally I hate it.
93) I wish everyone had a British or Australian accent.
94) In Paradise, I'd like to be able to read every book ever written, see every movie ever made, and somehow see every inch of the Earth.
95) I cried at 'Freaky Friday,' the remake.
96) I hated 'E.T.'
97) I got negative marks in Handwriting.
98) The only class I ever failed was 'Logic.'
99) Italian food is God's Gift To Us All.
100) I was The Little Drummer Boy in the church Christmas play, and I played too!


Dear Sweet Jesus! That was a LOT of useless info about me.
Hope it was somewhat informative.
I can narrow that down to five key facts:

1) I'd be dead if it weren't for my faith
2) I loves me the Star Wars!
3) Books, movies, and music are my obsessions in life
4) If I had a million dollars, I'd travel non-stop, for the rest of my life
5) I like lists.

AWESOME list, Marty! I can't believe you saw Aliens with Sigorney in the same theater!!! That kicks ass. :)
Italian food is God's way of saying he loves us.
If I had a million dollars I'd buy me John Merrick's remains. ;)

David: I know!! We tried to get up there to meet Sig (she was in the very front; we were more toward the mid-back) but she had left before we could at least allow me to faint at her feet. But it was cool as all get out to know she was right there with us watching!

Good Luck getting Merrick's remains from Michael Jackson. ;)
